CONTEXT

We live in a world where everything might not be okay.

How do we continue in a world where circumstances, forces, and interests that feel out of our control could destroy our lives? This isn't a new issue, but emergent technologies have created incentives around emotion and fear that have put more people than ever on edge. The book is a collection of essays, talks, interviews, and images that validate and address despair and hope.

THE BOOK: 128 PAGES, 5x7″

REFLECTION

I learned a ton making this book. I explored a more contemporary design style than I have previously. I practiced balancing design convention and continuity with surprise and delight. I had to take a large-scale project to a high level of refinement, from content curation to fabrication. I learned to book bind!

I think the biggest designerly lesson I'll take from this is to think very strategically about how people enter work, and how I want them to move through it (pacing!). I'm excited to make more books and booklets in the future—stay tuned!
